St. Patrick’s Hospital, Waterford – Residential Care Centre
Mechanical Services associated with the construction a new 100-bed residential care facility in the grounds of St. Patrick's Hospital.
The new 7,671m2 development comprises of 2 households of 30 beds, 2 households of 20 beds, a patient roof terrace, a full production kitchen and related community spaces. The new unit links with the existing hospital via a glazed link to the north, and directly with the western end of the mortuary chapel - a protected structure - refurbished internally and externally, forming a new main entrance and foyer for the hospital and the new residential care unit.
Dominic O’Connor Ltd. were involved in the supervision and management of the mechanical installation, which consisted of Oil& Gas Boilers, Heat Pumps, Radiant Panels, LST Radiators, Water Services, Drainage, Natural Gas, Chillers, Ventilation with Air Handling, Fire Smoke Damper, Local Extraction and Heat Recovery Systems, Air Conditioning Systems, Oxygen Medical Gas Installation, and BMS Systems.
The services were co-ordinated in BIM.
This project was completed in a live occupied hospital facility.
